More Fashion Week…

Some looks from Spring 2010 Fashion Week.  I got caught up in the middle, so I’m still going through a lot of it, but here are some looks that I liked.

The Sartorialist

So it’s turning into fall weather, which is very exciting, I like layers and long pants.  So here’re some great shots from the Scott Schuman, the Sartorialist.  Always lovely…

I love the mix of patterns and the muted colors.  The jacket is great and ever since I saw Coco avant Chanel I’ve been dying for a great striped Breton shirt.

Great shoes, for starters.  All sorts of great colors, and the wonderful cuffed pants.

A man, but great layers and colors…

Wonderful!  I’m really enjoying blazers and jackets of all sorts, and apparently black pants.  I’ve been on the hunt for a great pair of slim black slacks.  The fur looks so cozy too…

Again, great jacket, I love the different shapes and colors and tones and patterns… the short jacket with long sleeves and the longer cardigan.  The layering of the buttoned shirt under the cardigan could look stuffy, but it doesn’t at all.

I love both of them, with their belted waists and their jackets/cardigans and scarves.  I wouldn’t want to dress like my boyfriend, but I think they both are fantastically dressed.

Fashion Week!

So, I’m not ready to comment fully on fashion week or specific collections, but here are some images I saved from shows that I wish I were wearing right now…  (apparently I’m craving stripes and trench coats)

Shipley & Halmos (I love this dress, so sexy but understated.  Also the necklace… and the pumps…)

Ok, so now school’s started, so I might actually have time to update my blog (seems backwards, I know, but school is much less exhausting than work.).

I actually have a bi-weekly column in one of the school papers about fashion, so that’ll force me to do more.  Hopefully it works out well.  I’m also going to try and accomplish some DIY stuff, like studding and bead embellishments… we’ll see how it goes.

Let’s lust after the Olsen twins a little.  Pictures from my new favorite blog Olsens Anonymous

What I Wish I Were Wearing

Unfortunately, I’ve been working so many hours recently that I never have time to post here, wear fun things or really do anything other than sleep and work.

So here are some things I’d like to wear if I weren’t working all the time.

Cute vs. Too Sexy?

So I saw this look on and I was immediately in love.

I love the skirt, the blouse, and most of all the stockings.  Which brought me to my conundrum.  I usually think of thigh-highs as ultra-sexy bedroom attire, not casual street-wear, but I think it works.  Still part of me fears that it’s far too sexy.

However, why is it sexier than some of these looks (after the jump): Continue reading

Les Ongles

So I’m not the biggest nail-polish person, especially in the summer, but I’ve recently found myself obsessed.  As in, I spent far too long combing looking for the perfect shades.

I like painting my nails in the winter because I’m a huge fan of the dark colors – deep reds, blues and purples – the almost blacks and gunmetal grays.

So after all my searching, I wound up with the following:
